TRACIA EVERTON AUSTIN
Tracia Everton Austin has worked in the entertainment industry for over 30 years. In October 2014, she took the Virginia Film Office/Work Force Development Production Assistant Training Seminar and wound up being the Extras Casting Coordinator for an independent film just one week later. Since that time, Tracia has happily worked as a casting assistant for Anne Chapman. As a people person, she loves working with actors, producers and directors throughout the entire creative and collaborative process.
Tracia’s professional career began during college as a singer/dancer at theme parks and cruise ships. While working on her Bachelor of Music Education, she was a member of James Madison University’s touring show choir, the Madisonians, and her studies at Virginia Commonwealth University for a Master of Music in Vocal Performance afforded her the chance to experience opera and train as a vocal coach. She taught music in both public and private schools years ago and currently has a large, private vocal studio in Richmond where she preps students for both classical and musical theater auditions. Many former students have Broadway, national tour, and regional theater credits as well as success as teachers. For the past two decades, Tracia has served as a Music Director for CharacterWorks, an afterschool theater arts program that puts on full scale musicals several times a year. In addition, she has helped to coordinate the Kings Dominion Festival of Music for three decades.
